People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you. We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

What a treat this was. On a rainy Sunday morning to arrive to a class filled with sunshine and a wonderful teacher Connie. I met some wonderful budding artists and had a brilliant morning learning techniques and ideas. I can highly recommend this class and will be looking at attending other courses. Thank you Connie for your expertise, knowledge and encouragement.

I really enjoyed this event. Connie was so welcoming and knowledgeable. Not only did we all enjoy our tea & snacks, we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and felt a camaraderie among the ladies there that attended. What a special day it was! Thank you for teaching me the basics I needed to know and having such patience with us all!

Connie was a great teacher! This was my first time taking an art class, and as a beginner, I was apprehensive about coming out to try the class, but Connie made me feel very at ease and excited to be there. I learned a lot, and she was very engaged throughout the whole class. It feel like I would take another class with her.

Connie Dawkins
I'm ConnieDawkins also known as Artist of Hidden Hearts. The hidden hearts is because I hide three hearts in every painting. Which represents the Father Son and Holy Spirit.
I've been painting for just coming up to ten years.
I am more a self taught artist. I did take classes and study under Campbell Frost.
Also took classes with David Jensen with Heritage paints. Where I learned more about perception painting.
I enjoyed talking along with sharing about different techniques with other artists.
Art is a form of expression relaxation and simply enjoyment for me.
Sharing what I learn is heartwarming to me.
You can follow my work on Facebook Instagram and Tik Tok.
Helping each other grow our passion is such a must.
Learning to relax through art along with creating.

Connie Dawkins is available for private bookings

I am available Saturday Sunday and Monday afternoons in NE Columbia.
Thursdays from 9 till 3 in Camden at Artist Attic.

This work is part of a series I have done on the topic of water. I take photos of the water in different forms in places I have lived or visited . This piece of art was based on a photo I took of the marshes which make up part of Hilton Head?s allure. Bright colors were used to emphasize the fun as well as beauty that marshlands. Other works show the Bayous of New Orleans, the streams in the Rocky mountains and the Saluda River in Lexington, South Carolina , my home. If you would

Blast from the past...70's hippie art &128578 by me 5'by 4.5' acrylic on stretched canvas and titled "Quandarous Aspiraation" it now serves as a night light in my grandsons bedroom with black light rope lights of course &128578 I've always been horrified by how mankind always seems to turn every great invention into a duel purpose. For every new and beautiful invention there is a weapons backstory to destroy life. I created this painting not long after I finished my enlistment in the Navy.

Gromit was a ?foster fail? who helped many other foster dogs on their way to a new life. He demonstrated life could be kind and to try and trust again. His favorite play dates were at Union Reservoir, retrieving tennis balls in the water. The day before Memorial Day in 2018, he started fading fast, a rush to the emergency vet showed the cause, cancer on his heart. He died just after midnight, so it would be impossible for me to forget him. He was 4years old.
